Intel: Developer Zone Redesign
Intel needed to merge two online communities into one unified program.
So I helped them create the experience.
The Project
The Intel Developer Zone was born by merging the Intel Software Partner Program and Intel Software Network. I led all experience design efforts in a year-long project to bring the two sites together.
This critical initiative was highly complex due to its scale, shifting requirements and political stakeholder environment – which of course made it all the more rewarding.
My Role
- Strategy – Facilitation of internal alignment, requirements gathering
- Leadership – Created and delivered frequent executive-level presentations
- UX – Wireframes across full site redesign including complex user dashboard and custom collateral builder tool
- Creative direction – Brand guidelines for unique visual style & voice
- Copywriting – Site copy & promotional adoption campaign
To unlock partner benefits, companies must prove their software meeting Intel requirements through a series of online tests. As part of the site redesign, I led an overhaul of the UX for these reports – which were previously only available as PDFs – requiring significant collaboration with Intel software engineers to understand the available data and the meaning to the user.
A series of custom-designed banners set the tone for the new community. These were lauded by the hard-to-please Intel brand team.
Throughout the redesign effort, I created ongoing documentation of strategic vision, user flows, personas and annotated UX to continually capture shifting requirements and align internal teams.
In addition to the site, I led UX for a custom tool for Developer Zone partner companies to customize various print and digital collateral leveraging the Intel brand.
